Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Location: East Haven, CT

Salary: $80k - $110k

The Field Service Engineer will handle various tasks related to specialized x-ray inspection systems, including installations, maintenance, training, troubleshooting, and repairs. This role involves frequent travel, up to 60% of the time, with most trips within the country, but occasional international travel may be needed. When not traveling, the engineer will work from facilities in Connecticut and New York.

MUST HAVES

Associate degree in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

At least 3 years of comparable field service experience involving direct customer interaction.

A minimum of 2 years of directly relevant hands-on experience within a manufacturing setting.

Demonstrated proficiency in tasks such as cutting, stripping, tinning, and crimping cable and harness.

Ability to interpret and understand wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation.

Citizenship in the United States is preferred, or alternatively, being a permanent resident and capable of passing personal background and security checks.

Proficiency in the English language, showcasing strong written and verbal communication skills.

A solid grasp of PCs, including proficiency in MS operating systems, networking, and MS Office applications. • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced dynamic environment, with a robust mechanical and electrical aptitude coupled with effective problem-solving abilities.

Exhibits high levels of organization and self-motivation.

PLUS

Knowledge of Pneumatic Actuator Control and Relay Logic.

Knowledge of Machine Guarding Systems and Power Distribution.

Knowledge of CE, UL, or other applicable regulatory guidelines or standards.

Experience in tuning and Integration of DC Drives, VFD’s, Servo Drives, PLC’s, and PC-based control systems.

Experience with AutoCAD for Electrical.

Physical and Mental Demands

Regularly required to sit, walk, bend, and stand.

Domestic and International travel via air, rail, and car.

Will be required to lift, move, erect, install, and assemble electro-mechanical parts and components of varying weight, height, length, and width dimensions.

Effective communication in person, on the phone, via email, and other electronic devices on a continual and repetitive basis.

Repeated use of hands to finger, handle, feel, and operate hand tools, power tools, and standard office equipment.

Manual dexterity to complete required system and component cabling and wiring.

Day-to-day responsibilities will require lifting, moving, staging, and placing materials up to 50 pounds alone and heavier with assistance.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
