LHH is seeking a Product Development Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client near Franklin, Indiana. This is a newly created position due to business growth and will give you the opportunity to manage new product lines from cradle to grave. You will join a well-established team and will interface with multiple departments on a daily basis as you develop more products and components through product release. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $85,000-105,000 per year plus bonus and offers several medical insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the design team with new product development
Complete design reviews with internal and external business partners
Complete Finite Element Analyses and determine manufacturability
Select materials and/or create new materials in order to manufacture new products
Manage projects from beginning to end including the definition of the concept, designing, BOM selection, prototyping, and manufacturing
Work with the Design Team to edit drawings to match customer specs as needed
Collaborate with the sales, client services, and engineering teams about client requests, custom projects, etc.
Verify and validate new designs and conduct root cause analysis of quality issues during the design and beginning stages of the manufacturing process
Coordinate with operations and management personnel to develop a shared vision for the completion of daily tasks and then report on those activities
Perform initial and ongoing product and performance reviews
QUALIFICATIONS
***NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENT: Must have previous work experience with plastics manufacturing which could include overmolding, insert molding, injection molding, and/or extrusion OR possess a Bachelor’s Degree specifically within Plastics Engineering***
Bachelor Degree in Engineering is required
Must have experience with program management and/or new product development experience with plastic products
Preference toward candidates from a highly regulated industry
Must possess the ability to read blueprints and CAD designs
Must possess strong analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively work as part of a cross-functional team
