Hybrid on site in Hampton only 3 days a week

As an information security risk specialist on our team, you’ll use your experience to work with DoD Security Control Assessors and Authorizing Officials to discover their cyber risks, understand policies, and develop a mitigation plan. You’ll review technical, environmental, and administrative details from engineers to assess the entire threat landscape. Then you’ll guide your client through a plan of action with presentations, whitepapers, and milestones.

You’ll work with your client to translate security concepts so they can make the best decisions to secure their mission critical systems. This is your opportunity to act as an information security subject matter expert while broadening your skills in Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Zero Trust Architecture.

In this position, you'll be part of a 4-person team directly supporting an Air Force Authorizing Official. You will provide support in various Cybersecurity areas to include DoD RMF guidance, Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E), system vulnerability, and compliance in support of Assessment and Authorization (A&A) throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). You'll support system A&A efforts through cyber risk assessment, policy analysis, technology evaluations, and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) security control validation. You will apply expertise in technology to analyze system security implementations, application security, and provide recommendations to decision makers and engineers. You'll support the research of emerging technology, requisite security requirements, and emerging threats, and develop a way forward to meet organizational goals. You will consult headquarters-level decision makers on the technical implementation of solutions for promoting the sustainment of cybersecurity across multiple technology areas.

You Have:

2+ years of experience providing cybersecurity, engineering, or operational support, including supporting information assurance, network engineering, or systems administration

Experience evaluating the compliance of a system against current RMF and DoD Cybersecurity policies

Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and the implementation of industry best practices

Top Secret clearance

Bachelor's degree

Ability to obtain an DODM-8140.03 Certification, including CompTIA Security+, or ISC2 CISSP or CAP Certification within 90 days of start date
