Molding Manager

Job Summary:

The Injection Molding Manufacturing Manager oversees and leads the injection molding and assembly production areas within the organization. Their primary responsibility is to ensure efficient production, maintain quality standards, reduce waste, and manage direct reports. Additionally, they will use LEAN Six Sigma principles to optimize processes and drive continuous improvement Monitoring and analyzing KPIs will be a crucial part of their role.

*Plastic Injection Molding experience required, relocation assistance provided for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities:

• Process Management:

• Set up and operate injection molding machines according to specifications.

• Monitor machine operation and adjust, as necessary, to maintain quality and productivity.

• Troubleshoot and resolve machine and process issues.

• Ensure maintenance on machines and equipment is performed regularly.

• LEAN Six Sigma Principles:

• Identify process inefficiencies and waste.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement LEAN Six Sigma methodologies.

• Use the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach to drive process improvements.

• Reduce defects, cycle time, and variability in production.

• Team Leadership: Lead, manage and train a team of technicians, operators, and setters.

• Ensure mold changes are carried out to a high standard in line with manufacturing specifications. • Work with the leadership team to improve reliability and productivity of machines and equipment.

Maintenance:

• Collaborate with maintenance personnel to address any technical issues.

• Quality Assurance:

• Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.

• Implement quality control procedures and address any deviations.

• KPI Monitoring: Define relevant KPIs for injection molding operations (e.g., production efficiency, scrap rate, downtime).

• Regularly track and analyze KPI data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

• Develop action plans based on KPI insights.

• Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.

• Comply with all relevant regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Min 3 yrs experience in an injection/ blow molding environment

• Minimum of 5yrs working in a 24/7 manufacturing industry as a supervisor / manager

• Sound knowledge of injection molding processes, applications, and procedures.

• Familiarity with molding techniques, materials, and equipment.

• Candidate should have a MS / BS in a related industry subject.
