Position: Functional Safety Systems Engineer

Duration: 15 months with possible extensions

Location: Dearborn, MI (Product Development Center – Tues, Wed, Thurs)

Compensation: $50-$70/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Must Haves:

Bachelors degree in systems engineering, computer science engineering, electrical engineering, or related degree

5+ years of experience in automotive systems, electronics, and electrical architectures

Experience working in requirements engineering (able to work within subset of a large set of requirements)

Experience working with system modeling language (MagicDraw or SysML) and process mapping

Experience working with Jira or TeamCenter applications (VSEM, etc.)

Plusses:

Masters degree in systems engineering, computer science engineering, electrical engineering, or related degree

10+ years of experience in automotive systems, electronics, and electrical architectures

Experience working in systems engineering focused on braking systems, EPAS systems, powertrain systems, automotive control systems, etc.

Working knowledge of ISO26262 requirements

D2D:

Insight Global is looking for a Systems Engineer for a large automotive customer in the Dearborn area. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the development and integration for FUSA standard and industry common practices into the corporate processes. They would provide application support to the Vehicle Controls features and platform systems and module owners developing products for current and upcoming vehicle programs. This person will create, develop, and support the planning and tracking of Functional Safety work to delivery safety design in software. This person will also be responsible for supporting the development of functional safety designs within Vehicle Controls for the Vehicle Controls Module (VCM). This person will also be contributing to the development and support FUSA (Functional Safety) work products for features and platform systems assigned to the Vehicle Motion Functional Safety domain: Feature Document, Impact Analysis, HARA, Functional Safety Concept, Safety Requirements Specification, and Verification + Validation Report.
