We are a leading Tier 1 worldwide supplier to the major automotive, engine, and heavy equipment manufacturers of on-highway and off-highway vehicles for over 75 years. We have continuously engaged in the expert design, development, and manufacturing of metal bellows and specialized tubular assemblies. We are an employee owned company (ESOP).

We are looking for an Industrial Continuous Improvement Engineer.

SUMMARY

Responsible for development and implementation of optimized process improvements to both existing and future manufacturing systems reducing cost, improving sustainability, and promoting best practice standards within the organization.

ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an Industrial Continuous Improvement Engineer must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

knowledge of tube forming operations including: bending, trimming, end forming, hydro forming, brazing, MIG/TIG/Laser welding, leak rate and dimensional testing.

line balancing evaluation and improvement, coordinate and lead kaizen activities addressing flow constraints, takt time improvements, scrap reduction, and cell layout optimization.

time studies and work measurement analysis to establish standard work methods.

and write specifications/performance requirements, work instructions, reports, and proposals.

production issues utilizing root cause analysis techniques, time studies, and work flow evaluation.

cross-functional teams in design, implementation, and training of process improvements.

full project implementation with understanding of APQP practices, customer deliverables, timing, and providing related documents.

in production capacity activities including: operator training, burst builds, and Run at Rates.

with Quality Department as needed utilizing core tools: PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, and SPC.

in addressing customer concerns/corrective actions: 8D, 5-Why, etc.

cell layouts utilizing CAD software with attention to Safety, Ergonomics, and 5S practices.

and purchase new manufacturing technology.

to all company policies.

Additional Requirements

Works in both an office and floor environment, may be exposed to elements such as temperature and noise during time spent on the plant floor. Physical activity required including lifting and working with tools. Ability to work with all levels of work force including operators, skilled trades, and managers. Overtime may be required to meet project/program deadlines.

Education and Experience

Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.

5 years of manufacturing experience in automotive welding and assembly.

certification strongly desired, six-sigma certification a plus.

and training experience a plus.
