Job Details

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

2-5 Years of experience in HVAC product development engineering

Project management experience in a manufacturing environment

Summary

The Project Engineer collaborates effectively with a diverse team, including engineers, designers, technicians, operations representatives, and project managers, to ensure the successful delivery of various sustaining engineering efforts within schedule and budget. The primary focus is on maintaining, modifying, and updating existing product lines, as well as providing engineering support to sales, production, and warranty departments. Additionally, the Project Engineer will contribute to generating design ideas for new products and finding solutions to enhance existing products based on customer requests.

This is a fully onsite position in Dallas (no hybrid option).

Responsibilities

SALES DEPARTMENT

Consult with the sales team on product features and options for customer

Develop new features on existing products based on customer requests

Create new unit configurations based on sales requests

Provide technical data for sales related questions

ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Cloud Suite Industrial 10 (ERP)

Maintain unit label database and perform updates to Bartender when new products are launched

Maintain/update product and model nomenclature

Build configurable unit BOMs into ERP

Perform quick updates to existing products BOMs when needed

Correct outstanding issues from old product lines

Create and implement ideas in all product lines that will improve overall efficiency

Maintain and update units to code/standards

Support in-house unit testing (airflow/electrical/sound/psychometric)

Support recertification through third party company (Intertek/UL)

Research into certification methods to improve design

CAD DEPARTMENT

Converting and creating new 3D models in Inventor

Support CAD team when needed

Creating prints (drawing and dxf) for prototypes and production

Creating ECNs to incorporate changes

NPD Support NPD team when needed

3D Modeling

Adding BOMs to CSI

Creating new label templates

Providing technical data on parts in house

OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT

Investigate and implement production improvements on existing product lines

Provide updated job material pick-list upon order entry issues

Explore cost reductions within specific product series.

Offer guidance on replacement parts for purchasing and production, and develop solutions for inventory shortages

WARRANTY/ FIELD SUPPORT

Provide on-site maintenance and support when required

Create engineering bulletins for product lines in the field when major revisions have been implemented

Investigate and identify the root cause of issues whether related to engineering, components, or site/construction
