Cloud Database Specialist– Mongo

Database Services is seeking Cloud Database Specialist who is responsible for Cloud automation and database administration in a fast-paced operations environment supporting 24x7 business critical applications using analytical and transactional databases having MongoDB on new cutting edge technologies -- Cloud and VMC platforms. Database Engineer will be able to script and automate cloud database activities, perform troubleshooting on any database issue, performance analysis, ensuring database security, evaluating new database trends and technologies, developing and testing automation scripting and coding required for database administration and associated database tools.

Location: McLean, VA; Plano, TX; or Atlanta, GA (Onsite Tues/Wed/Thurs)

Rate: $59/hr on W2 max

Duration: 6 months with possibility to extend or convert

Day to Day:

Need understanding on databases on cloud. Know the network, security groups, etc. When they come in, being able to develop CFT’s, set up best practices, and being able to come in with full cloud experience assessing new technologies for us. Coming in as Aurora SME’s.

Focus is automation and cloud design.

A successful candidate will have the following characteristics:

Knowledge and expertise with AWS cloud infrastructure

Understanding of Cloud architecture, end points, VPC, Security groups etc

Skilled at creating and modifying Cloud formation templates

Skilled at creating new Terraform templates

Experience in designing Aurora Postgres and Mongo Atlas databases

Experience in maintaining and improving backups, restore process

Experience with Aurora 5-7 years

Experience with Mongo Atlas 5- 7 yrs

Experience with CFT development 5- 7 yrs

Good working knowledge of Cloud security elements, IAM roles etc

New technology assessment skills

Understanding of Neptune, Dynamo, Document DBs
