Business System Analyst

Akkodis is seeking a Business Analyst (BSA) for a Direct hire role with a client located in Torrance, CA

Salary range: $115 - $130k per annum plus benefits, The salary range may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Target years of experience - 8-10 or more. No less than 5 YOE

Have to be quite technical.

Must have a strong personality. Can't be walked over.

Have to know the core BA functions. Will be writing documentation.

want a technical background in the banking or mortgage industry. Projects are very technical. BSA is probably preferred over a BA.

Will be working with the most difficult person at the company. Must have a strong personality. Can't be walked over. Let things roll off them. The ability to put your foot down about this is the process.

Understanding databases is a plus. Working with a database that is kind of antique.

Projects? one project is writing tickets for enhancements to the Universe system. Antiquated DB system. Old-fashioned Unix experience is probably what's most similar. Everything is on the command line, with no GUI. All keyboard/command line. That project also has a difficult person, he has been here 30 years and knows this system inside and out.

another GUI-related project. API, service layer, interacts with MySQL database. Have to know what's an API and how it works in the system. Understands how to work with 3rd party integrations.

if understand Universe and API, other stuff will fall into place. Working with the compliance team, using Python dev. At least know Python is a dev language, what challenges could be present there. Python experience isn't necessary.

other projects: APIs, ideally how to execute an API call, make a request, get the response back, understand what those words mean. Not required.
