Overview:

Clifton Public Schools is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Preschool Teachers to join our team of early childhood educators. As a Preschool Teacher, you will have the opportunity to play a vital role in providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that fosters the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of young children. Responsibilities:

Develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and lesson plans that promote active learning and address the individual needs and interests of preschool-aged children.

Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and positive social interactions among students.

Plan and facilitate a variety of engaging activities, including arts and crafts, music and movement, storytime, dramatic play, and sensory experiences, to promote the holistic development of children across all domains.

Incorporate play-based learning opportunities and hands-on experiences that promote language development, pre-literacy skills, numeracy skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Foster positive relationships with students, families, and caregivers through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and family engagement activities.

Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to coordinate classroom activities, maintain a cohesive learning environment, and ensure the smooth operation of the preschool program.

Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress and development, document observations, and communicate findings with parents/guardians to support individualized learning goals and interventions.

Implement behavior management strategies that promote positive behavior and self-regulation, while fostering independence and responsibility in young children.

Stay current with best practices in early childhood education, child development research, and instructional methodologies through professional development opportunities, workshops, and conferences.

Adhere to state licensing regulations, health and safety guidelines, and school policies and procedures to maintain a healthy and secure learning environment for all children.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

State teaching certification/licensure in Early Childhood Education or eligibility for certification.

Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or early learning setting.

Knowledge of early childhood development principles, theories, and best practices.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Creativity, patience, flexibility, and a passion for working with young children.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and establish positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
