Irwin IP is a boutique intellectual property litigation firm located at 150 N. Wacker Drive, 7th Floor, Chicago, IL, and we are seeking an IT Support Specialist to respond to and to manage the daily IT issues faced by our business.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should have significant experience administering Microsoft Sharepoint systems, a track record of exemplary accountability, be able to demonstrate sound judgment, make quick decisions, and anticipate attorney needs. The candidate should evince a root cause analysis-oriented approach to problem-solving. This candidate should show a strong commitment to go above and beyond to manage the unexpected and time sensitive IT emergencies that arise periodically, as well as to manage scheduled IT projects, including interfacing with the various IT vendors without much supervision and using a high level of discretion and professionalism.
Job Type
Full-time. You must be able to work Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and occasionally stay past 5 pm when workload and/or deadlines require. You will work in-office Monday through Thursday and remotely on Fridays from March through November; you will work in-office two days a week and remotely three days a week from November through March.
Key responsibilities include:
Configuring, administering, and managing firm SharePoint server and IT systems, including endpoints and network equipment, to ensure efficient operation and security
Promptly addressing emergent and day-to-day IT needs quickly and efficiently, for example, diagnosing and resolving software, hardware, and cloud sync incidents
Organizing, logging, and tracking company IT inventory and procuring IT supplies as needed
Installing, configuring, maintaining, upgrading, and uninstalling/decommissioning IT equipment (e.g. network infrastructure, employee workstations, etc.)
Managing and implementing firm security protocols, including pen testing
Coordinating with IT vendors (e.g. the firm’s Microsoft products vendor, printer vendor, computer manufacturer, conference room AV contractor, etc.) for purchases, maintenance, and repairs
Training employees on Firm hardware and software systems, including new employee onboarding
Participating in IT Committee Meetings, and advising on and undertaking firm IT projects
Researching and staying current on security threats and proposing and implementing responses
Staying current on IT innovations and trends to recommend improvements and cost efficiencies

Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
Associate Degree in a field such as Computer Science required
Bachelor’s Degree in a field such as Computer Science preferred
Minimum three years' experience as a Sharepoint administrator, preferably in a law firm setting
Expertise in administering Microsoft SharePoint/Teams-based systems required
Microsoft certifications preferred (365 Fundamentals, Teams Administrator Associate, Administrator Expert, Security)
CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ certifications preferred
Knowledge of remote support tools and techniques
Proficient in document management systems and data collection
Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
Extreme attention to detail, timeliness, and excellence
Superior ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize
Ability to handle a diverse range of responsibilities and interactions
Ability to solve problems and administrative issues with little or no oversight
Annual Salary:
Based on prior work experience, not less than $80K
