Our Denver office is looking for a Process Engineer with five to ten years of experience related to projects within the Oil and Gas industry. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and will lead engineering efforts in the mechanical and process design areas as part of a multi-office design team.

Key Responsibilities:

Assignments will have leadership and oversight of process design as well as interface with Project Managers to fulfill project requirements.

Create and develop a project design basis, PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment layout drawings from concept through approval.

Develop process simulation models using Aspen HYSYS

Develop steady-state hydraulic modeling for liquids and gases for use in pipe sizing and pump selection.

Develop RFQ documents for equipment and packages including specifications, data sheets, reference drawings, and vendor drawing requirements. Approve vendor-supplied drawings and data for equipment packages including pumps, compressors, meter skids, pressure vessels, tanks, pig traps, control valves, and motor-operated valves.

Develop technical bid evaluations and make recommendations on specific equipment and components.

Assist with the development of construction scopes of work for construction bid packages.

Coordinate with Piping Designers and other discipline designers in the development of project 3D models as well as interdisciplinary reviews.

Review and selection of piping specifications.

Participate in HAZOP/PHA reviews, client drawings, and design reviews in accordance with industry codes, standards, and Company policies.

Capabilities and Credentials:

Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.

Registered Engineer (P.E.) is preferred or the ability to obtain a license.

Minimum of 5 years relevant experience supporting oil & gas projects.

Must have a working knowledge of Aspen HYSYS.

Experience creating PFDs and P&IDs is required.

Knowledge of the Code of Federal Register (CFR), Parts 192 and 195 as well as ASME B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8

HAZOP/PHA experience and/or certification as a facilitator is a plus.

Knowledge of pipeline surge analysis, Stoner or Pipesim is a plus.

The ability to work on two or more interdisciplinary projects at once while effectively managing time and prioritizing project deliverables.

Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.

Travel to job sites up to 10% of the time.
