Our client, a Maritime systems and engineering company, is looking to bring on a Marine Engineer to their team. This position is a hybrid role based at the USCG HQ in Washington, DC. This individual will perform design review and assessment for the USCG boat fleet. Primary responsibilities are listed below:
Senior: 1 day onsite, 4 days remote
Junior: 4 days onsite, Fridays remote (required 3+ years of experience)
Review shipbuilder drawings to support planned production AND Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for technical acceptance
Work with an engineering support team ensuring quality control standards of deliverables for clients
Have knowledge of ISO/ABYC standards and regulations; 3D modeling software and ASME Y14 standards and circuits/electronics
Be able to conduct engineering design research and advise clients on technical issues or deficiencies affecting ship production, operations and maintenance
Have the ability to document technical deficiencies in the form of issue papers
Be able to review Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) submittals from the shipbuilder for specification adherence
Must-haves
* Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Naval, Ocean, or Marine Engineering
* Secret clearance
* 10+ years of mechanical maritime design engineering experience
