Group Description

Vehtek Systems (a division of Magna International) is located in Bowling Green, Ohio. Vehtek is a Class A automotive stamping and assembly facility manufacturing automotive body system components for GM, Ford, FCA, Honda and other aftermarket customers. We operate a 500,000 square foot facility with approximately 1,000 employees. Role Summary

As an Assembly Engineer, you would be required to coordinate assembly engineering projects and ensure successful completion of all programs, engineering changes and production projects awarded to assembly. It's your responsibility to support the program team in feasibility studies and support the customer requests for quote on projects requiring assembly processing.

Key Responsibilities

A few key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Work as a liaison between production, assembly, engineering, and vendors.

Work independently under the direction of the Project Lead or Department Manager.

Maintain effective communication and coordination with all internal customers, plant management and team members.

Listen to issues/concerns and respond within 48 hours.

Establishes and follows up throughout full program implementation.

Review assembly incoming drawings, CAD data, sketches, EWO;s, Fastrackers, etc., ensuring current and awarded business.

Work with customers, vendors, and other departments to implement:

Engineering changes

Quality improvements

Continuous productivity improvements

Cost reduction programs

Methods and procedures such as FMEA, 8-D, VE/VA - Score/Spec.

Advanced Product Quality Planning to customers

Body in White assembly tooling development.

Handle confidential information on a regular basis and participate in Continuous Improvement activities.

Travel may be required.

Other duties as assigned/specified.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications Include:

Engineering degree or equivalent combination of education and work related experience or a Certificate of Qualification as an Electrical Controls/Robotics Engineer.

10 years related work experience in automotive Body in White assemblies.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing people

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Quality Function Development (QFD)

Design for Manufacturing (DFM)/Design for Assembly (DFA)

Value Engineering (VE)

Design of Experiments (Taguchi and classical)

Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA/PFMEA, etc.)

Simulation Techniques

Computer Aided Design (CAD)/Computer Aided Engineering (CAE)

Reliability Engineering Plans

Statistical Process Control (SPC)
