Assistant Basketball Coach

Overview To build and strengthen the character of Jr.

and Sr.

High School students through recreation (basketball). Responsibilities * Teach the students how to play/respect the game of basketball, enforcing the rules * Responsible for developing and running a 2-hour basketball program 1-2 times a week * for youth ages 12-19 * Responsible for developing and running a 2-hour basketball program once a week for youth ages 7-11 * Responsible for collecting the stats for the Corps Officer on a monthly basis * Responsible for the cleanliness of the gymnasium, hallways, and restroom facilities throughout the Corps building * Notify the Youth Assistant of any issues * Report to the Youth Assistant any problems, injuries, or incidents involving the property, program and/or the participants * The Assistant Basketball Coach reports directly to the Youth assistant regarding all youth and family recreation related issues * The Assistant Basketball Coach is responsible for maintaining a safe and structured environment.

Qualifications * High School Diploma and/or experience with basketball coaching * Good communication skills (written and verbal) * Attention to detail * Problem solving and assessment with the ability to multitask * Work as a team player as well as independently * Good organizational skills, writing skills and communication skills are a must * Has respect and consideration for the people being served
