Job Summary: Private practice is seeking a full-time, board certified neonatologist to support Johnston-Willis Hospitals Level III NICU in Richmond, Virginia.

Staffing Model/Schedule

2 neonatologists, 4.5 neonatal nurse practitioners at each facility. Providers will have a primary site.

24 hour shifts for NNP

Schedule: One week on/one week off, for total of 26 weeks on/26weeks off annually, with 8 hours in-house daily, anticipated to be 8 am to 4 pm, then 16 hours out of house call with 30-minute response time Responsibilities include:

Attend deliveries and facilitate admissions

Manage NICU and Newborn nursery patients

Participate in multi-disciplinary rounds to provide active management of NICU patients including but not limited to vent weaning, nutrition adjustments, lab review, and meeting with families. About Johnston-Willis Hospital

292 bed facility with a brand new 20 bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit that opened February 2021. The facility provides individual private rooms that allow parents to remain with their babies for the duration of their care.

Deliveries 1,700

NICU and Newborn ADC: 20

Newborn Admits: 95%

High frequency ventilation (HFOV and HFJV), inhaled nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia, pediatric surgery

No cardiac surgery, except for PDAs; no ECMO

On-site pediatric cardiology, with additional support from VCU subspecialists Community
