Summary/Objective:

The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including screening, interviewing and onboarding staff, administering pay, benefits, training, and enforcing company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

Maintains organization of staff through recruiting, screening, counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes

Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.

Maintains a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys, scheduling, and conducting job evaluations; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions.

Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and job training.

Maintains work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.

Maintains employee benefits programs, conducting open enrollment periods, managing eligibility and termination dates. Educating employees on benefit selections.

Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling outside supervisory/management training where conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.

Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.

Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years HR Management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office setting within a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as telephones, computers, printers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and noise from manufacturing equipment). This list is not all inclusive.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard. The employee may be required to lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Travel:

Less than 10%

Travel is between plants, all located in Elkhart, Indiana

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

A minimum of three years of human resource management experience preferred.

Experience in human resource management in a manufacturing work environment highly preferred.

SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.

Experience working in ADP is a plus.
