As a nutritionist, you will assess your client's needs to create detailed meal plans and new dietary routines. You should be an exemplary listener and teacher, able to motivate your clients to make healthy lifestyle changes and work towards their health and wellness goals.

Nutritionist Duties and Responsibilities

Promote healthy eating and lifestyle habits

Meet with and interview clients to understand their current nutritional and health habits

Inform, advise, and dispense nutritional information to clients

Create tailored and detailed meal plans in accordance with client's needs and taste preferences

Be empathetic and understanding of the client's nutritional challenges and counsel them on how to make beneficial changes

Be aware and act accordingly if a client has any food-drug interactions, food allergies and or cost restrictions when formulating a nutritional plan

Follow-up with patients, review progress and help keep them on track with the nutritional plan youve set forth

Document patients progress, setbacks, and overall results; organize and maintain patient files

Follow all nutritional laws and regulations

Continually conduct research in the nutritional sciences field, read articles and journals, and attend conferences regularly

Stay abreast of current and latest nutritional findings and implement this material into your work

Nutritionist Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in dietetics, nutrition, public health, or related field; masters preferred

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential

Valid license to practice in TX

Experience educating and counseling

Previous experience using nutrition analyzing software programs such as Nutritionist Pro

An adept motivator who can inspire patients to make positive change

Able to set realistic goals for clients and help them achieve these goals

Excellent problem solver

Strong analytical skills
