Overview:

Element Materials Technology Boston-Acton, Inc. is looking for a full-time Media Preparation Technician to prepare and sterilize media, reagents, and supplies in support of our microbiology testing laboratory. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and interested in working exclusively in a laboratory setting.

Responsibilities:

Prepares media and reagents in a timely manner according to media schedule

Decontaminates, washes, and sterilizes laboratory glassware and supplies

Documents processes using good documentation practices

Monitors supply inventory (dry chemicals, liquid chemicals, prepared media, prepared reagents and prepared solutions)

Monitors and discards expired raw materials and prepared supplies

Monitors, cleans, and decontaminates laboratory equipment

Skills / Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience in biological science or related science field preferred

Experience with media production and aseptic technique preferred

Experience working in a regulated environment (GLP or GMP) preferred

Ability to make basic mathematical computations

Ability to operate in a detail-oriented, self-directed manner

Ability to work independently and within a team

Able to lift boxes and general office supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.

Hear, speak and effectively verbally communicate in the English language, including following oral and written instructions, in order to communicate with people inside and outside the organization

Apply manual dexterity and visual acuity for computer keyboarding, common laboratory procedures, and office equipment use and to review detailed data and information

Move around the lab repeatedly throughout the day, including being on your feet for extended periods of time
