Summary
The Account Executive supports the New Business Development Team in the development of Strategic Marketing Plans to meet the needs of identified prospects. The Account Executive owns the relationship and successful delivery of the work product from deal close, through delivery and the sustaining relationship and may support Account Managers in the delivery of complex projects.
The Account Executive has responsibility for the overall success of all accounts under their watch. Setting & managing expectations (shared vision) between client & Workshop, ensuring work product quality, project budget and on time delivery are repeatedly met across each project execution lifecycle. Marshaling of shared Account Coordinator(s) may also become critical in the successful execution of the account lifecycle.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Maintains direct day-to-day client contact (single point of contact) for Project Based clients with an aspiration to learn and grow into the leadership of more critical Agency of Record accounts
Ensuring Workshop & client relationships are both exceedingly positive and stable. In the event a risk is identified the communication or escalation of that risk and its mitigation plan must be clear and prompt
Be the single point of contact for all communications with client; supporting initial client discovery and owning/leading through delivery of proposal, work products (copy, layout, art, strategic marketing, media & public relations plans), billing and sustaining relationships
Brief Director of Client Services & Workshop Sr. Leaders on a predetermined frequency, escalate ‘issues’ as required for prompt accurate resolution
Communicate needs to the Director of Client Services and campaign for the deployment of Account Coordinator and matrix lead accordingly to ensure success
Be the sole expert on clients’ changing market positions, new offerings and/or pivots in business and be able to effectively use that information to outline latent needs and brief Workshop team
Manage objections & steward feedback into Workshop
Utilize in-house processes & tools (traffic) as well as customer contact to stay out in front of the Workshop Team’s day-to-day execution and ensure it meets customer needs on time & budget
Relentless focus on quality and on time execution without losing focus on future new business opportunity (up sell) with clients, engage the New Business Development Team and support the deal through close
Assemble, final review (prior to release to client) & present all materials (work products & billing) to client(s)
Travel as required and leverage video conferencing to stay in front of the client(s)
Represent Workshop at industry functions; listening for emerging trends / opportunities and promoting Workshop’s strengths
Participate on the New Business/Sales team
Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing or equivalent experience - required
Advanced Degree with a leadership focus or Project Management Certification (PMP) - desired
Demonstrated success selling - desired
Demonstrated entrepreneurial, solution focused style of execution - required
Prior success in marketing agencies or in-house marketing functions preferably in a client management function - required
Demonstrated success in prior client facing roles - required
History of success in managing complex deliverables - required
Repeated success seeing the positive through the noise and leading teams to it - required
Demonstrated success rapidly building and maintaining relationships - required
A history of excellence in communication, active listening, risk mitigation & problem solving - required
