Description

Our firm is seeking an experienced Building Information Modeling (BIM) Manager who is a self-starter with a passion for providing technical leadership and training to our growing design team across multiple offices, while continuously working to establish better workflows and solutions. It is critical for the BIM Manager to stay current with industry standards and bring innovation to the design team by sharing information and technology as it emerges within the industry.

Candidates must have an architectural background with exceptional Revit® and Bluebeam® skills, an understanding of other peripheral software programs that support architectural and interior design staff (e.g., Enscape, a content management system, Revit plugins / tools, Matterport, etc.), the ability to communicate with all project team members, and possess excellent organizational skills.

The location of this role is preferably in the Milwaukee office, but our Davenport, Iowa or Sheboygan, Wisconsin office locations may be considered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Oversee and maintain BIM and design technology systems.

Coordinate Revit® file management within the firm, including the development and maintenance of Revit® standards, templates, and families, and ensuring that project models are setup and maintained according to firm standards.

Coordinate Bluebeam® file management within the firm, including development and maintenance of Bluebeam® templates and firm profiles.

Coordinate and manage the firm’s Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360 site, including initial creation of project folders and development and maintenance of project templates and permissions.

Coordinate and manage peripheral software programs and tools including Enscape, a content management system (currently HIVE), Revit plugins and tools (currently CTC tools and Keynote Manager), Matterport and 3D scans, etc.

Assist architectural and interior design project team members with workflow and coordination strategies.

Assist with the development, documentation, and coordination of typical construction document details in partnership with architectural, interior design, and quality control/assurance (QA/QC) team members and address any issues related to Revit® documentation and standards in partnership with QA/QC team members.

Develop, document, and implement BIM standards and best practices, and effectively communicate current standards to all team members.

Lead an internal BIM best practices committee (or similar small group) to ensure architectural and interior design staff have the BIM resources needed to efficiently deliver projects on behalf of our clients.

Participate in and coordinate with an internal project standards committee (or similar small group) to support documentation standards throughout the firm and update BIM practices accordingly.

Coordinate and conduct regular Revit® and Bluebeam® training and presentations including on-boarding of new hires and facilitating training based on in-coming skillset(s).

Manage and collaborate with software vendors and IT partners on BIM related items and initiatives. Ensure BIM software is up to date and monitor / manage BIM software licenses.

Promote technology and process innovation throughout the firm including providing recommendations to the leadership team for BIM-related technology updates and changes.

Develop a continuous improvement plan and provide written implementation plan(s) for changes impacting the technological status quo.

Work with our engineering, and other, consultants to ensure their compliance with our BIM standards including advancing and maintaining our BIM execution plan.

Work with our project standards group to evaluate, develop, and implement methods for sharing appropriate BIM models / information with construction management partners while protecting intellectual property and firm liability.

Requirements

An architectural background with a preference for 5+ years working in an architectural firm. Experience working in an architectural, interior design or engineering firm is preferred, but proven ability to deliver essential duties and responsibilities in similar professional services profession would be considered.

Advanced experience in Revit® including project template development, family creation, and integration with Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360 cloud-based model hosting.

Advanced experience in Bluebeam® including setup and utilization of Bluebeam® Studio sessions.

Experience using Autodesk Construction Cloud to facilitate clash detection between multiple disciplines.

An understanding of and proven leadership in current and emerging technologies that may integrate into BIM software.

Appropriate experience in Windows environments; working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well Adobe Creative Suite programs.

The ability to manage deadlines and prioritize assignments.

Experience effectively training all levels of staff on BIM technology and software.

The ability to interpret architectural, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, structural, etc. design drawings.

Familiarity with architectural specifications and keynoting in construction documents.
