Position Overview/Summary:

The Store Manager is responsible for assisting the General Manger with managing overall store operations. The position assists by managing daily business activities, identifying opportunities for improving business functions, supervises, trains, and ensures employees are productive; ensures store’s operating budget is maintained and ensures policy and procedure adherence.

Primary Duties: Operations:

Ensures employees and customers adhere to all regulatory statutes, laws and operating guidelines, for example, the purchase of age-restricted products.

Completes and maintains required sales records and banking transactions appropriately and timely.

Ensures proper cash handling/transaction procedures adherence and appropriate use of company equipment.

Maintains financial controls and procedures and keeps record of accounts and variances.

Assists with ordering and maintaining adequate levels of merchandise inventory.

Ensures vendor Check In procedures adherence and verifying quality and quantity of merchandise received during vendor deliveries.

Accounts and reports sales, cash, inventory or operating discrepancies to General Manger, Operations Director and Corporate Controller.

Maintains an awareness of overall store and property conditions: equipment, maintenance, supplies and store cleanliness.

Monitors and ensures merchandise is stocked, maintained, rotated, and displayed to ensure appeal and easy customer access.

Ensures safety and security policy and procedure adherence; provide training to new and existing employees. Staffing:

Maintains adequate staffing levels both In and Out of season; complete weekly scheduling of shifts to meet the needs of the business.

Ensures positive employee relations with employees; provides required training and development; address performance issues/concerns, substandard job performance and separations in accordance with company policy and procedure.

Hires and trains new employees to perform their duties in accordance with company policy and operating guidelines; performs timely performance appraisals. Customer Service:

Coaches store employees how to provide excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly, and attentive manner.

Addresses and resolves customer questions or concerns within established guidelines and in timely manner.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities & Experience Needed:

Three (3) to five (5) years of retail store management experience.

Three (3) years of warehouse / management experience.

At a minimum, a high school diploma (or equivalent) - preferably an Associates

degree or four (4) year business management or relevant degree

Supervision and management experience.

Ability to lead by example and effectively manage employees.

Ability to provide exceptional customer service.

Ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.

Working knowledge and experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

Experience managing and maintaining various book of accounts.

Willing to work overtime and weekends to meet deadlines and during peak season.
