POSITION DESCRIPTION

The National Park Foundation seeks an experienced professional to fulfill the position of Director, Account Management on the Corporate Partnerships team. This position will help lead the account management team, maximizing revenue and brand engagement opportunities in the corporate partner portfolio in support of the National Park Foundation’s mission to protect America’s most treasured places and connect more people to them. This position offers an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to drive revenue and visibility for the National Park Foundation and make a significant impact on the national parks.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Account Management, Corporate Partnerships, this position offers the opportunity to join an award-winning team to leverage an impressive roster of highly visible national partners. This position supports NPF’s overall revenue and brand objectives, with an emphasis on stewarding and executing successful corporate partnerships for long-term retention and growth. The Corporate Partnerships team sits within the External Affairs division and ensures strong alignment with peers in marketing, communications, content and social, brand management, and government relations.

The Director will help lead a team of account professionals in bringing to life integrated marketing partnerships that meet corporate partner objectives and drive both revenue and marketing exposure for the Foundation in its efforts to support our federal agency partner, the National Park Service (NPS).

Though this position could be remote, preference will be given to individuals based in Washington, DC. The National Park Foundation can consider candidates in the following states: AL, CA, CO, DC, FL, IL, MA, MD, MN, NC, NH, NM, NJ, NY, OH, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Help manage NPF's corporate account management program with a focus on effective and efficient stewardship, long-term partner retention, and account growth.

Supervise full-time account management professionals, including hiring, training, evaluation, and professional development.

Identify and encourage best practices for account team in utilizing social impact, sponsorship, cause marketing, licensing, content marketing, and employee engagement tactics that maximize revenue and brand opportunities to meet corporate partner and NPF objectives.

In collaboration with the Senior Director and the SVP of Corporate Partnerships, set and monitor account team’s annual partner portfolio revenue goals.

Work with the Senior Director on implementing reporting on portfolio metrics, including contract renewals, incremental revenue, earned and donated media, activations, and promotions, constituent acquisition, program impact, etc.

Help manage the account team’s individual portfolio assignments, monitoring capacity and leveraging opportunities for specialization and cross-portfolio collaboration.

Help oversee implementation of corporate partner activity in conjunction with the NPS Partnerships and Communications offices, ensuring alignment with NPF and NPS brand standards and impact priorities as well as industry best practices. Help lead corporate partner communications and stewardship strategy with a focus on strengthening NPF relationships, including the annual corporate summit and opportunities for industry recognition. Develop and implement processes to share timely and relevant NPF news with the full partner portfolio.

Working with the Senior Director and the Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships Operations, identify and implement efficiencies across the account management team, utilizing NPF systems to streamline team activities.

Maintain and manage a personal account portfolio of strategic accounts to help advance NPF’s financial, brand, and program impact goals. Strive to achieve portfolio metrics with a focus on long-term retention, growth, and collaboration opportunities.

Prepare and staff leadership participation in corporate partnership efforts as needed.

Work effectively with internal departments including Marketing, Communications, Brand Management, Content & Social, Programs & Partnerships, Legal, and Finance to develop and execute corporate partnerships.

Adhere to NPF brand standards and policies as well as those of our federal agency partner, the National Park Service. Protect and steward the National Park Foundation and National Park Service brands.

Demonstrate a commitment to NPF, the National Park Service, and America's national parks.

Support NPF's mission and collaborate with other departments as needed through in-kind, marketing support, and other assets.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES

The ideal candidate should have the following:

Demonstrated success in corporate fundraising and/or partnership marketing, including cause marketing, licensing, traditional philanthropy, sponsorship, and relationship management.

Established track record of directly leading and implementing strategies to grow, expand, and diversify existing partnerships.

Experience in effectively managing and coaching direct reports.

Experience in managing high-profile, complex accounts and partner stewardship events with diverse stakeholders.

Ability to develop systems and/or processes to increase efficiency for a complex, fast-paced program.

A good understanding of current marketing principles, consumer trends, metrics, social and digital platforms, and methodology.

Strong, effective communication and presentation skills that engage and persuade high-profile, major corporations to support NPF.

A creative approach to developing new partnership campaigns to evolve with NPF’s strategic needs.

Ability to find compromise to meet varied objectives.

A passion for America’s national parks.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Completion of bachelor’s degree and at least 5-7 years of successful corporate partnerships experience.

Experience in client management with varied industry categories.

Non-profit experience preferred, but not required.

Command of PowerPoint and additional presentation or design software preferred.

Experience and/or knowledge working with the public sector at the federal, state, or local level.

Demonstrated interest and experience in professional growth, and willingness to take on increasingly complex strategies and assignments.
