Job Description

Film Rewinder/Slitter Operator

Nekoosa Coated Products (CET Films) is currently recruiting candidates for a Film Rewinder/Slitter Operator at their Lakewood, NJ location.

Participate in all safety training and conduct periodic audits of LOTO and confined space procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Effectively operate slitting and rewinding equipment to support customer demand,

Adjust blades (score or razor) on machine shaft, according to widths specified, secure blades in potion.

Mount roll of material on machine and properly threads machine to run through blades.

Starts machine and observes flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and winding. Is responsible for continuous monitoring of material quality, watching for flagged and unflagged defects.

Make machine adjustments to stop, start, and regulate speed of machine and to align material with blades.

Maintains a clean working environment at all times. Including cleaning the rollers and cutting blades whenever and as often as necessary to ensure good cut quality, sweeping floor in his/her area, returning unused materials to their proper storage area when no longer needed.

Qualifications

1-3 years of film slitting experience preferred, but not required.

Must read and write English.

Basic math skills required, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Must be very familiar with both metric and English measuring system, must be able to read a ruler.

Must be detail oriented with a strong focus on quality.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. PPE, including safety glasses and steel toe shoes are required.
