Salary:

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for directing the day-to-day operations surrounding the cleaning and sanitizing process for the facility while maintaining compliance with customer, Regulatory Entities and Federal and State guidelines, regulations, and laws.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Manage the day-to-day activities of the sanitation department ensuring all sanitation employees follow cleaning procedures for production lines and facility to meet/ exceed Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), USDA and FDA regulations.

Maintain all pertinent records, reports, and paperwork; ensure daily reporting is accurately completed and recorded as required (i.e., departmental reports, attendance/staffing, etc.)

Identify, develop, communicate, and implement opportunities for process optimization, (i.e., new methods, procedures and systems) to improve sanitation process.

Lead or participate in the planning and implementation of process improvements, monitor improvement metrics, and solve for reoccurring issues.

Partner with client Quality Assurance to ensure a food safe and sanitary environment following all specifications and USDA requirements

Mentor, coach and train/ cross-train employees encouraging career development; provide consistent feedback concerning strengths and areas in need of improvement.

Administer performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions on a fair and consistent basis.

Follow and promote all safety initiatives including training/retraining employees, helping to maintain a zero-accident culture

Perform additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY ROLE:

This role supervises hourly employees.

This role is a Leader of People role with required competencies: Sizing up People, Delegation, Planning, Customer Focus and Conflict Management

This role reports to the sanitation manager.

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Minimum two (2) years' relevant experience in food manufacturing; experience in food industry preferred

Demonstrated leadership experience including knowledge of timekeeping requirements, policy adherence, conflict resolution and the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.

Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their interactions and potential hazards

Working knowledge of poultry processing, food safety regulations, OSHA guidelines, GMP and HACCP.

Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written, with customers in a timely and professional manner; ability to communicate in multiple languages preferred.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.

Proficient computer and math skills; knowledge of Microsoft software preferred.

Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Follow and ensure others follow departmental and company safety policies and programs!

Wear required protective equipment in all areas were mandatory.

Understand all cleaning chemicals SDS sheets including their uses, interactions, and hazards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work non-standard or extended shifts including nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.

Ability to stand and/or walk throughout shift.

May be exposed to heat (99 ree;F, 37 ree;C) and cold (45 ree;F, 4 ree;C)

Exposure to wet and cold environment
