Your Focus

As Cloud Solutions Engineer, you will play a critical role in our ongoing efforts to leverage the latest technology to enhance the quality of life for people everywhere. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing AWS-based cloud solutions that support IFF's business goals.

Your technical expertise and hands-on experience with AWS services, and others, will enable you to build and deploy innovative solutions that deliver actionable insights and drive meaningful business outcomes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including cloud architects, software engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure that the cloud solutions you develop meet their needs.

The role is Chennai, India based and will report to AWS Tech Platform Lead.

How You Will Contribute

Design, build and deploy high-quality, scalable, and secure cloud-based solutions on the AWS platform. Some solutions might be based on already well-established solution blueprints while other solutions might need building anew.

Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams to understand and articulate business requirements clearly and translate requirements into innovative solutions.

Regularly contribute to enhancing existing cloud solutions by:

Contribute to deployment, usage, and support documentation of the solution.

Improve code artifacts, build, deployment, standard operating procedures.

Reduce run cost of overall solution.

Detect deviations and enforcing company-wide standards to ensure solution is compliant i.e., enhancing monitoring and observability of solution.

Extend solution to offer greater functionality or managed experience.

Manage deployments following IFF’s Change Management process.

Individually design, build, deploy and showcase prototype applications.

Job Requirements

What you will need to be successful

Essential Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics and Communication Engineering or any other relevant discipline.

Minimum 2 – 5 years of experience designing, implementing, and consulting with distributed cloud-based applications.

Deep understanding of AWS cloud services, cloud-native architectures, and cloud infrastructure.

Creative problem-solver with a passion for using cloud technology to make a positive impact.

Strong hands-on experience in delivering high-quality, scalable Infrastructure Automation through DevOps scripting (E.g., shell, python, Terraform, AWS CDK).

Eager to learn and stay up to date with the latest developments in the cloud computing field, and passionate about using technology to enhance the quality of life for people everywhere.

Ability to translate technical blueprints to deployable architectures. Expected to be well versed in referencing and comprehending AWS documentation and translating them to technical deliverables required to realize the usage of the AWS service.

AWS Associate Level or Professional Level Certification.

Strong hands-on experience with AWS server less and fully managed services.

Proficiency in at least one programming language – Python.

Proficiency in one scripting language – Shell.

Proficiency in Infrastructure Automation scripting – AWS CDK (Python) or Terraform.

Strong understanding of cloud computing architecture and design principles.

Strong understanding of Source Code Management (Git).

Strong problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Ability to evaluate, integrate and scale opensource software from official documentation.

Passion for applying science and creativity for a better world and a drive to continuously learn and grow.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Professional Kubernetes or Terraform certification.

Experience with deploying and managing cloud-based solutions in production with CI-CD pipelines like Jenkins.

Ability to work with cross-functional teams to reduce ambiguity and drive projects forward.
