Job Overview: As a Graduate Research Analyst specializing in Geopolitical Risk in the Supply Chain, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis to identify, assess, and mitigate geopolitical risks that could impact our supply chain operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights and recommendations that inform strategic decision-making and help safeguard our supply chain against potential disruptions.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Analysis:

Conduct comprehensive research on geopolitical developments, trends, and risks that may affect our supply chain, with a focus on key regions and markets.

Analyze political, economic, social, and regulatory factors to assess their potential impact on supply chain operations, including trade policies, sanctions, conflicts, and geopolitical tensions.

Monitor relevant news sources, intelligence reports, and academic publications to stay informed about emerging geopolitical risks and their implications for our industry.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

Evaluate the likelihood and potential severity of geopolitical risks, considering their proximity to suppliers, production facilities, transportation routes, and distribution networks.

Collaborate with supply chain stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities and develop proactive strategies and contingency plans to mitigate geopolitical risks and enhance supply chain resilience.

Provide risk assessments and actionable recommendations to senior management and decision-makers, highlighting potential implications for business continuity, cost, and reputation.

Reporting and Communication:

Prepare clear and concise reports, presentations, and briefings summarizing key findings, insights, and recommendations related to geopolitical risk in the supply chain.

Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including supply chain management, procurement, logistics, and risk management teams, to ensure alignment and facilitate informed decision-making.

Engage with external partners, industry associations, and government agencies to exchange information, share best practices, and enhance collective understanding of geopolitical risks in the supply chain.

Qualifications:

Studying for or already awarded a Bachelor's or Master's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

Academic background with a focus on geopolitics, security studies, risk analysis, or related disciplines.

Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and draw actionable insights.

Proficiency in data analysis, statistical methods, and research methodologies, with experience using relevant tools and databases.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.

Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Proactive attitude, self-motivated, and eager to learn, with a passion for understanding global dynamics and their implications for business.
