Packaging Operator

Sirius Staffing immediately seeks a Packaging Operator for a position in Martin, South Carolina. The ideal candidate would have 1-2 years of chemical manufacturing experience and experience operating a forklift.

This position is a contract opportunity with the potential to convert to a perm position.

12-hour rotating schedule: 2 on, 3 off, 3 on, 2 off rotating from days to nights every 2 weeks

The Packaging Operator will support the manufacturing of products according to established protocols and perform operations in support of the group, department, and company.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Transport chemicals and equipment using tools such as pumps/piping, fork trucks, pallet jacks, or dollies.

Perform production and packaging operations according to established procedures.

Ensure the quality and quantity of products throughout the production process.

Clean up equipment and work areas after production operations.

Coordinate proper disposal of waste and complete necessary compliance documentation.

Communicate and document the status of processes, products, and equipment.

Report any deviations in production operations or equipment to the supervisor.

Provide accurate batch records at the end of production operations.

Ensure all relevant logbooks are completed accurately.

Conduct operations in compliance with safety rules and regulations.

Adhere to production procedures and safety policies at all times.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for the production processes, including full-face respirators, gloves, and suits.

Use, clean, and store all personal protective gear properly.

Properly label all in-process equipment and containers.

Take necessary action to address any unsafe conditions.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laboratory and work areas.

Requirements:

An Associate's degree in a life science-related field with 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar environment, or

A High School diploma with 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar environment.

Forklift experience required

Essential and Critical Skills:

Proficient in safe chemical handling methods

Strong communication skills, both oral and written

Basic computer proficiency

Mechanical aptitude

Ability to troubleshoot technical issues

Excellent interpersonal abilities

Strong organizational skills
