Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and procedures. This role requires strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities:

Process vendor invoices accurately and timely, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and documentation.

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Manage and prioritize payment of invoices, taking advantage of discounts and terms to optimize cash flow.

Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies, maintaining positive vendor relationships.

Assist in the preparation of month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including accruals and reconciliations.

Perform periodic review and analysis of accounts payable processes to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices.

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls related to accounts payable.

Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support as required.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, receiving, and accounting, to streamline processes and resolve issues.

Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards related to accounts payable processes.

Requirements:

Degree in Accounting preferred.

Proven experience working in accounts payable or related finance role.

Strong understanding of accounts payable principles, practices, and procedures.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal staff.

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
