POSITION EXPECTATIONS AND JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The skill and ability to set up and operate a minimum of 2 machine tasks, finish grinding, and/or centerless grinding machines. Must have ability to, dress wheels, select proper speeds and feeds for various materials. Should have a thorough understanding of through-feed angles, dresser swivel, and diamond offsets. Also regulate coolant flow and set up and operate vibrator feeders. Documents and moves materials to next operation. Must know use of various precision measuring instruments. Is responsible for producing a quality product as called for by shop drawings and/or process sheets. Is responsible for assigned machines, area housekeeping, and lubrication of machines. Knowledge and use of SPC. Set up and operate Z mike and SPC computer. Set up and operate Talyrond 30-P.E., and printer. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or his/her designee.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Read, write and simple shop mathematics, and/or charts. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Typically have the equivalent of 1 to 3 years’ experience or more.

SKILLS:

Read shop drawings, process sheets, work with close tolerances, produce high surface finishes and have good communication skills. Must be flexible in work assignments and be able to work cooperatively as a team member and demonstrate respect and courtesy to all internal and external customers.**Centerless Grinding Experience Required This is a second shift position with all training being conducted on first shift.

**2nd Shift Hours: 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
