Principal Consultant - Tableau Admin

Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant-Tableau Administrator!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with Donlen IT architects, cloud engineers to ensure optimal functioning of Tableau Server and the dashboards published on Tableau Server.

• Work with IT on installation, upgrade, testing, maintenance, and customization of Tableau server.

Write and run Python/PowerShell/Bash scripts for automation, maintenance activities, especially for Tableau Server.

• Develop and document standards/best practices/governance for the administration of the Tableau platform.

• Work with SCS Director of BI Tools on Licensing key management for Tableau Server & Desktop.

Create and manage sites, folders, sub-folders, groups, workbooks and projects, database views, data sources, and data connections.

• Support Tableau-related service desk tickets for internal/external users.

• Coordinate with Donlen IT to Manage onboarding of users with SSO for Tableau Server and Tableau Online and work with internal departments to implement any authorization and authentication methods that apply internally.

• Develop and enhance dashboards to meet user requirements.

• Manage a team of dashboard developers.

• Develop and manage process for advancing Tableau desktop models and dashboards to Donlen FleetWeb for deployment.

• Continued exploration of internal/external data to enhance the Tableau offering.

• Work with IT to integrate, create or enhance existing and new data sets.

Collaborate with internal departments to expand upon the Tableau offering.

• Foster internal acceptance of data analysis, exposing Donlen employees to Tableau and data in an

• effort to increase data quality and ownership, ultimately leading to ownership of data.

As needed, manage a limited portfolio of customers while providing insights and fleet reviews, for each customer.

Minimum Qualififcatons

Technical Requirements

• Understanding of Tableau Architecture and cloud platform, preferably Azure/AWS.

• Understanding of Tableau performance tuning of tableau servers and workbooks.

• Ability to create tickets and independently managing the vendor for issues arising from software.

• Experience utilizing scripting languages to leverage Tableau APIs (JavaScript, Data Extract API), especially for embedding Tableau dashboards in other applications.

• Knowledge and experience with change management processes.

• Working knowledge of Tableau tables to monitor server activity/usage statistics to identify possible performance issues/enhancements and potential threats.

• Experience with onboarding users via SSO for Tableau Server and Tableau Online.

• Experience designing effective dashboards based on user requirements.

• Ability to translate and present complex solutions to C Suite, entry level data consumer or customer.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master or bachelor’s degree in IT or Computer Science.

• Strong BI and DWH knowledge

• Excellent written & verbal skills.
