Background

Lipton is a truly global brand and operates in two distinct areas; Leaf tea and Ready to Drink Tea (RTDT). The RTDT team operates as a separate entity to Unilever and PepsiCo as part of a joint venture organization.

Pepsi Lipton is a joint venture between Unilever and PepsiCo to manufacture and sell Lipton Ice Tea and operates across the globe. As a company in its own right, the joint venture has its own board of directors. Whilst in constant contact with its parent companies, it runs as a separate entity on a day to day basis. We have 5 regional organisations operating across North America, Europe, LATAM, NASEA and AMESAA

Main Purpose

Manage 3 different bottler relationships in 4 countries (Lotte- Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Mongolia)

Management of the major Lipton Key Accounts relationships

Lead and execute local brand building plans for the Lipton brand

Co-create channel penetration strategies for the brand within the market

Responsibilities

Accountabilities

Develop and align with 3 Bottlers across Philippines, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore on detailed marketing activity plans to deliver the agreed strategies, including:

Pull activities (advertising, consumer promos, sampling and activation)

Distribution targets and customer promotions

Channel strategies

Lead the execution of the annual marketing plans, including:

Executing sampling, consumer promotion and activation campaigns

Developing POP material required to suit local channels and customers

Conducting joint business planning with key Away From Home customers

Support the Bottlers GTM team in the execution of the AOP and delivery of key brand & financial goals

Monitor performance against AOP KPIs and financial goals, and conduct regular reviews with Bottlers and Pepsi Lipton stakeholders, including preparing required reports, presentations and forecasts, and recommending necessary steps to dynamically manage plans and budgets to deliver the AOP goals

Manage local implementation of operational projects ( innovation, packaging changes etc ), and co-ordinate with Pepsi Lipton Technical and Operational resources as required.

Manage the Away from Home Agenda for Philippines, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore

Manage junior Business Development analyst

Business Skills

Strong strategic thinker, with business acumen and discipline to focus on the right priorities.

Deep rooted understanding of beverage industry, total system & bottler economics

Experienced in managing P&L

Significant depth on Brand Management (particularly NCB), Consumer Insights and Channel marketing with breadth in Customer marketing, Finance and Operations

Demonstrated ability to turn marketing strategies into winning operational plans

Proven ability to manage a matrix organization (cross-functional / cross-border) with multiple levels of alignment within the PepsiCo system, Unilever system and with the joint venture Board of Directors

Excellent communication, alignment and influencing skills

Personal Skills

Committed team builder with a high passion for growth & excellence

Excellent leadership & people management skills able to identify, gain trust & engage with key stakeholders to navigate in a larger system where Lipton may not a top priority

High level E.I and ability to build strong relationships with, and manage culturally diverse groups of people from two distinctive corporate cultures (Unilever & PepsiCo) in addition to the Bottler’s.

Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience

Minimum of 10 years of experience in Commercial/Sales preferably in FMCG and MNCs

Experience in Franchise business Model will be a key advantage

Strong and effective communication & influencing skills to drive cross-functional collaboration

Excellent problem-solving skill and capability to take strategic plan into action

Great process and project management skills, disciplined to ensure delivery of quality end results

Capable of influencing multiple senior stakeholders and navigating a matrix, multi-market organization.

Personal Qualities & Skills

Mature with strong people leadership skills – ability to work with different individuals exerting good organization impact with confidence.

Quick at making decisions and giving team direction/focus.

Comfortable in fluid situations

Strong negotiator and people person, be able to manage and create different GTMs
