Compensation: $11.25/hour

Hours/Week: Weekly average, approximately 10 hours per week

Required hours may include days, evenings, weekends, overnight hours and holidays

Job Description

The primary role of the Marketing Analyst Intern is to assist the Purdue Convocations marketing team with projects in the areas of market research, data management, visualization, and analysis of web traffic, ticket sales data, and paid and organic social media campaigns. The intern will complete projects that will inform and support Purdue Convocations’ sales and marketing campaigns to expand sales channels in the professional performing arts events presented at Purdue University. The intern can expect to apply their problem-solving skills while learning and using new business intelligence and analytics tools. This position will work closely with the Convos marketing team and will report to the Director of Marketing. The position work is required only during regular Fall and Spring semesters.

Prerequisite(s)

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in marketing, management, communication, journalism, public relations or related field.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and minimum of one semester of college coursework successfully completed

Must be actively enrolled at Purdue University, Purdue Global or a local accredited college.

Previous work experience within marketing, management, or communication preferred.

Upper level or masters level coursework in marketing, management, business analytics, communication

General knowledge of Purdue University, the performing arts, and social media best practices preferred

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

Flexible and dependable with a strong attention to detail

Problem solving, logic and reasoning skills

Customer service oriented

Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines

Ability to work independently and with a team

Be timely and organized

Position Responsibilities

Collect quantitative and qualitative data from PPC and traditional marketing campaigns, box office sales receipts, donor data in Salesforce (SFDC) and Marketing Cloud, web analytics, organic social media.

Develop and maintain visually appealing marketing reports utilizing Tableau or similar for daily sales, campaigns, historical trends that help inform upper-level management decisions.

Perform market analysis and research on competition and peer institutions

Extract data from organizational databases and customer relationship management systems (CRM)

Maintain confidentiality and exhibit professional conduct when handling sensitive information

Present ideas to leadership, as identified

Responsible for all scheduled shifts (based on class/exam schedules for the semester)

Attend scheduled staff meetings to gain and/or share pertinent information, as needed.
