Job: Financial Controller

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Type: Full-Time

Our client is a market leader in innovative solar energy solutions with operations across Kenya, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. they specialize in providing efficient, green solar energy installations to Commercial and Industrial customers without an initial capital outlay.

Job Purpose:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and executing accounting operational functions, accumulation, and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements.The desired individual should possess strong motivation and organizational skills, coupled with excellent quantitative and analytical abilities. Regular, timely, and accurate reporting to management will be a key aspect of this role.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the entire general ledger, including preparation of timely monthly financial reports.

- Provide Financial and Analytical support to Management, including oversight and reporting on key operational and sales performance indicators.

- Budget and Cost Control: Monitor allocated budget and ensure efficient management of funds.

- Liaise with external partners such as Auditors, Tax Advisors, and suppliers.

- Ensure timely submission and completion of all tax and statutory filings, including VAT, PAYE, etc.

- Implement quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.

- Develop business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

- Ensure adherence to financial aspects of contracts and timely renewal.

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field from a recognized university.

- CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within an audit or corporate firm, managing general ledger, VAT, and statutory filing.

- Proficiency in Accounting Packages, spreadsheets, databases, and MS Office.

- Strong analytical, presentation, and communication skills.

- Experience with managing cash, accounts receivable, and payable.

- Knowledge and experience with local accounting and compliance requirements.
