Job Description

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Required Tasks)

Responsible for business process, including evaluating and translating requirements of RFP, NPI, compliance and submittal of proposal and risk assessment

Responsible to review PO and confirm customer schedule, request date and promise date

Act as point of contact for customers; responsible for customer relationship

Responsible for the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closing of programs within the organization

Create timelines to track key program milestones and internal action items

Create open issues lists to drive successful launch activities

Responsible to implement and maintain a risk management plan for the program

Drive programs using and evolving the NPI process to hold departments and champions accountable

Manage all costs associated with the launch of programs and track relative to budget

Manage capex spending and timing of critical equipment and tools as well as timing of implementation

Ensure all quoted costs (material, labor, tooling, etc.) are at or below budget and verified through NPI

Hold periodic meetings to keep program team on task per timeline requirements

Eliminate roadblocks with customer and ensure program scope does not change without needed EC’s and potential re quote opportunities

Hold customer accountable for original program scope, timing and deliverables

Hands on approach to pushing launch activities through the plant and corresponding departments supporting the launch

Full understanding of customer expectations and requirements throughout the launch and up until SOP

Responsible to build, communicate and incorporate lessons learned

Responsible to meet the contract requirements for the program

Leads IPT's (integrated program team) and guide functional departments to achieve program goals for cost, quality and on-time delivery

Appropriately uses authority to stop program activities if they risk customer requirements

Establish budgets and allocating working packages (WBS) and/or budget at product level to the operating levels by setting target costs

Determine delivery plans in coordination with operations

Responsible for confirming and controlling working plans

Approves scope changes to include engineering changes and use of program funds to qualify new processes and/or suppliers

Adhere to all company safety rules and procedures

Other duties as assigned by supervisor

SKILL SET (Required Skills)

A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, with a focus in business management and/or engineering is required

A minimum of four years’ experience in managing contracts for the Department of Defense is preferred

PMP certification is preferred

Ability to read and interpret documents such as request for proposals, contracts, drawings, safety rules, policies, and procedure manuals

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Ability to communicate effectively with and influence customers, peers and supervisors

Use of hands to hold, lift and handle materials. Seldom climbing, bending and squatting.
