Job Description

Tom Hesser BMW in Scranton, PA is seeking a highly motivated candidate to fill the position of Service Advisor in our rapidly expanding BMW store. The ideal candidate will have customer service experience, excellent verbal/written communication skills, and be very well organized. Prior service advisor/writer experience a plus but we will train the right candidate. Knowledge of CDK computer system a plus. Come join our outstanding team at Tom Hesser BMW. Job Summary: The Service Advisor is responsible for scheduling service work in our service department and for selling needed service to customers. The Service Advisor is the dealership's first-line customer-relations and service representative.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5:00 PM, some Saturday hours required.

Compensation: Hourly compensation based on experience.

Job Responsibilities Include:

Greeting customers in a prompt, courteous manner.

Scheduling appointments by telephone, text or e-mail, using dealership computer system.

Preparing repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs required and obtaining approval signatures.

Estimating the cost and time needed to do a repair.

Follow up progress of each repair order during the day, contact customers by telephone, text or e-mail regarding changes in the estimate or time promised.

Verify warranty and service contract coverage; explaining provisions and exclusions.

Deliver vehicles to customers and answer any questions, review work performed and explain charges and coverage.

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers’ bulletins & publications.

Warranty processing & coding.

Miscellaneous administrative duties as directed by Service Manager.
