Job Summary
The Sheet Metal Fabrication Technician will use blueprints, work orders, work plans, and other data to fabricate the design shape or object for each project.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with designers, management to review upcoming jobs, assist with project time and material estimations, track and maintain time schedules
Read sign proofs, architectural drawings, and understand structural, graphic detail, and have the ability to translate
Work with hand tools such as drills, pop rivet guns, jig saws, power tools
Use of chop saws, metal shears, sheet metal breaks/folds to form signs
Welding, MIG to weld structural elements of frames together
Layout, cutting, fitting, measuring
Must have an understanding of how to read and use a measuring tape
Keep area clean and hazard free
May unload materials
Maintain equipment and report any malfunctions or defects
Required Skills and abilities:
Forklift experience a plus
Attention to detail, multi-tasking, intuitive,
Fabrication of post and panels, monuments, mid-size pylons, cabinets
welding, painting, assembly, sign wiring
Basic computer skills, understanding of construction site safety procedures
Ability to work independently and work well with others
Perform quality assurance measures pre and post production
