Job Description

Salary: Based on Experience

General Summary: RPI Inc. is looking for someone to oversee the basic operation of the SMT department equipment by ensuring maximum output and minimal quality issues.

Qualifications:

Must be familiar with Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) electronic components and SMT assembly process.

Must be able to set-up and operate automated SMT assembly equipment including Solder Paste Screen Printer, Pick and Place Machine, and Reflow Oven.

Must be able to properly clean boards.

Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

Knowledge of inspection process, inspect one section at a time, looking at component placement, orientation, polarity, value, and missing parts.

Job Functions:

Picks components and prepares kits for manufacturing.

Perform basic soldering and rework of SMT components. Must successfully complete solder training course (Flex provided).

Visually inspect assembly for obvious damage, non-conformance, cleanliness, component mounting and installation, and soldering quality.

Maintain accurate job tracking records.

Interpret IPC-A-610 standards for acceptability and customer specifications.
