JOB DESCRIPTION

Staff Development Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:

The Staff Development Coordinator works with Human Resources and Program Directors to design and conduct work-related training and development programs to improve individual skills or organizational performance. He/She may analyze organizational training needs or evaluate training effectiveness. The Staff Development Coordinator will assist with conducting orientations for new employees and ensure compliance of annual trainings with existing employees.Non-exempt Position.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work in close collaboration with the respective Department Directors and Managers.

Teaches any non-certified agency required trainings.

Receives and maintains current instructor certifications.

Coordinates all required courses monthly according to the training schedule.

Completes all necessary paperwork in a timely manner as required by DBHDD and DCH.

Prepares training materials (PowerPoint presentations, staff handouts, etc.).

Enters all trainings into Relias and HR Software.

Assists with maintaining files for staff certifications electronically.

Runs staff training expiration reports monthly and communicates monthly with all agency supervisors for reporting.

Provides copies of staff training documentation to Program Directors, Accreditation

Organizations and auditors when requested.

Completes a monthly compliance report and submits all reports to Director of Human Resources as requested.

Assist the Human Resources department as needed.

Stay abreast of all updated compliance regulations for governing bodies.

Serves as backup for Residential Training and any other required annual training.

Promotes and protects individuals' rights, especially the right to freely make and express preferences in choices regarding their daily living and care, if such rights/choices are not detrimental to individuals' wellbeing.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: Bachelor's degree in education and/or a related field, at least 1-year of training experience preferred and at least 1-year experience working with adults and/or children with developmental disabilities or mental health issues.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

He/she must be friendly, caring, have good communication and organizational skills in order to prioritize duties and meet deadlines as they arise. Proficient in the use of computers and computer programs including PowerPoint. He/she must have a personal vehicle and a valid Georgia driver's license. He/she must have a working knowledge of The Arc of Southwest Georgia's Mission and Vision as well as the agency's programs and services. He/she must have a knowledge and understanding of the agency's accreditation process and its value to the organization.TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

When required to work in the office, the environment will be that of a typical office atmosphere. Some travel may be required. Some non-traditional working hours may be required.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS:

He/the Director of Human Resources will supervise her.
