Job Description

We are currently seeking a Controller who will perform client delivery tasks for BOOST clients. This is a full-time, fully-remote position.

BOOST LLC provides enterprise level services for government contractors, providing scalable solutions in accounting/finance, contracts/procurement, HR/talent acquisition, and strategic advisory services. Our passion is to guide and propel our clients towards success in this competitive sector. Our team knows GovCon compliance, and provides strategic, direct advice and services.

The Controller will perform client delivery tasks at the Controller level for BOOST clients, which will include:

Client Accounting Tasks

Develop the role of the Controller function to our client base

Assist with Internal Controls Support and Management

Assist with Direct and Indirect Cost Budgets

Assist with Indirect Rate Monitoring, Rate Adjustments, Intercompany Allocations

Assist with Forward Pricing and Occasionally Proposal Pricing as Required

Financial Review and Strategic Analysis

Assist and conduct Audit Readiness

Write, Implement, and Enforce Internal and External Accounting Policies and Procedures

Ensure Compliance with FAR, DCAA, GAAP and CAS requirements

Budgeting and Forecasting / Benchmarking / Cash Reporting and Management

Incurred Cost Submission

Month-end closing and issuance of financial reports to all clients every month

Support tax inquiries from 3rd party CPA firms for tax preparation

Assist with reviews and audits from 3rd party CPA firms for client support

Conduct and support 1408 assessments & accounting ecosystem assessments

Other duties as assigned

Client Account Management

Business development support as assigned

Oversee and manage all assigned client activities as main point of contact

Onboarding of new clients

Lead internal and client status calls

Provide Executive Strategic Advice and Support to Client CEOs and Senior Leadership

Serve in a Leadership Capacity for Growing GovCons and Counsel on Their Growth

Ensure 95% client retention annually

Management Responsibilities:

Maintain 70-80% utilization as Controller

Supervisory role and management of personnel

Manage, supervise, and train direct reports

Manage client workload for direct reports to ensure utilization goals are being met

Conduct performance reviews for direct reports

Approve timesheets for direct reports

Approve invoices for direct client support

Support and train our accounting staff in performance of their daily responsibilities

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s degree in accounting or finance preferred

8+ years of experience in finance/accounting, in government contracts for multiple type contracts.

Must have deep knowledge and understanding of FASB and GAAP

Advanced knowledge of CAS, FAR, and DFARs

Expertise and understanding of all accounting and financial transactions to include cost review, reconciliation of accounts, and adjustments

Proactive and consultative style, with a strong service focus required

Strong communication, project management, and leadership skills with the ability to proactively manage a variety of projects and timelines

Proficiency in using a variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft office tools and web-based tools

Experience with one of the following systems is preferred: Unanet, Quickbooks, or Deltek Costpoint

Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-changing environment

Ability to see the big picture with a sense of humor

Ability to be proactive and plan ahead to stay on track while juggling multiple clients

Fantastic written and verbal communication skills.
