Job Description

Position Summary

Functions primarily to coordinate all work needed toobtain new permits and revise, renew, and modify existing permits for activeoperations and closed mine facilities in PA and WV.

Target Responsibilities

·Identify and prioritize the permitting needsand requirements with manager and mine personnel

·Prepare the permit applications in aself-reliant manner while carefully utilizing and managing expert independentconsultants and contractors to assure a timely and complete permit submittal

·Closely monitor the permit application reviewand approval process with the regulatory agencies and promptly respond toreview requests to secure the permit approval within the required time frame

·Assist the Reclamation and Project ComplianceEngineer in preparing applications to obtain bond and permit releases after phasereleases are complete and assist with land use change needs and prepareapplications

·Maintain communications with Land Resources &Engineering on current & future projects in accordance with mine timingfiles

·Submit purchase order and change noticerequests

·Approve, receive, and track contractor andconsultant invoices

Required Skills and Experience

·Bachelor's degree in Engineering, EnvironmentalSciences, or related field plus 3 years of experience in environmentalpermitting. Mining industry experience preferred

·Self-starter who takes initiative to match thedynamic nature of the energy industry

·High level of attention to detail, the abilityto work independently, adjust priorities, and work in a continuously changingenvironment

·Excellent verbal and written communicationsskills to work effectively with team members within Permitting, Land Resources,Compliance, State and Federal Regulatory Agencies

·Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and otherMicrosoft applications

·Requires approximately 5% travel for mine sitevisits, investigations, and agency meetings
