Bristol Elder Services, Inc., located in Fall River, MA, is a private, non-profit agency that provides community-based support services. We offer a comprehensive benefits package.

The purpose of this position is to provide advocacy for residents living in area nursing facilities and rest homes through mediation with residents, family members and/or facility staff, and monitoring facility operations. This is accomplished by conducting facility visits, assisting complainants over the phone; participating in survey activities; providing training services for volunteer Ombudsmen; and conducting in-services as needed. Other duties include preparing reports; recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers; screening potential volunteers, setting up and organizing volunteer trainings, and participating in meetings as needed with State agencies including the Executive Office of Elder Affairs.

Excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to effectively relate to a wide variety of personalities and provide advocacy; proven organizational, time management, and analytical skills; ability to work independently; basic computer skills; ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, high volume work environment, and demonstrated leadership ability.

Bachelor's degree, human services experience and one year of management experience required. Applicants with experience in long-term care facility systems, mediation, and advocacy and at least one year of management will also be considered. Bilingual English and Portuguese preferred.

Driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
