Your role Reporting to the VP Operations, East, the Manager, Actuarial Services oversees the Actuarial Team related to the pricing of our products, evaluating insurance liabilities, and supporting other projects related to data, reinsurance and capital.

Opportunities in reserving, pricing and/or data projects will depend on the interests of the employee.

What you bring to the position ~ University degree in Actuarial, Mathematics, Statistics or other related fields ~ Completion of 4+ CAS or SOA actuarial exams.

CAS exam 5 completion ~5+ years of relevant P&C insurance experience ~ Pricing or data experience an asset ~ Advanced user of Microsoft Excel ~ Experience with SQL, Guidewire or Akur8 an asset ~ Deep understanding of insurance principles and actuarial pricing/reserving techniques ~ Strong oral and written communication skills, organization skills and problem-solving skills ~ Ability to form opinions and make recommendations to management What you will do Contribute to reserving and pricing analyses in accordance with Canadian Accepted Actuarial Practice.

Primary area of focus will depend on the interests of the employee Prepare Quarter End insurance liability valuations Prepare Financial Statement notes and provide actuarial support in preparation of regulatory returns and other industry surveys Responsible for preparation of provincial regulatory rate changes and other automobile filings Develop commercial and specialty insurance pricing solutions Prepare annual Finance Condition Testing (FCT) and other ad hoc capital management initiatives Provide internal actuarial support for audits, regulatory reviews and peer reviews Provide actuarial support for Reinsurance requests Manage actuarial solutions to routine and ad hoc requests related to actuarial valuation, pricing and data Stay abreast of developments in actuarial and regulatory standards and requirements Manage and build the Actuarial Team Collaborate with the VP Operations East, Finance, Underwriting and Claims teams as needed What we offer Competitive compensation package Comprehensive benefits RRSP program with Company match Training and professional development
