Virtual Construction Senior Associate

Job Description:

Our client company is seeking a full-time Virtual Construction Senior Associate to join our Virtual Construction team in the Northern Virginia/Washington, D.C. area. This mid-level Virtual Construction Senior Associate will take the lead in implementing BIM and Virtual Construction technology at the project level. Additionally, the Senior Associate will serve as the primary point of contact with subcontractors involved in leading VDC implementation on the project.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, high-performing, and possesses strong communication skills. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask while working under multiple deadlines are key to this position.

Responsibilities:

Lead BIM coordination on multiple projects with subcontractors by conducting clash detection, running coordination meetings, and resolving conflicts.

Generate a federated coordination model consisting of construction, design, and trade models.

Communicate coordination issues and engage with clients, architects, designers, engineers, subcontractors, and our client company’s project team to promote a collaborative environment and proactively manage model-based conflicts.

Perform and process laser scans to lead project initiatives, including as-built documentation and QA/QC efforts.

Utilize reality capture data for progress tracking and quality control within the coordination model.

Assist in developing new and improved VDC workflows specific to project needs.

Lead the documentation, teaching, and promotion of the integration of BIM tools and VDC processes company wide.

Advocate for the use of BIM data throughout the entire project lifecycle, from preconstruction through project completion.

Support the marketing department during project pursuits by creating VDC-related graphics, 4D animations, and video presentations.

Qualifications:

3-5 years of practical experience in construction, design, drafting, or engineering.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, Architecture) or equivalent experience.

Direct experience in managing BIM coordination projects.

Preferred experience in data center, healthcare, or life sciences construction.

Working knowledge of Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.

Preferred working knowledge of FARO Scene, Recap, Fuzor, Synchro, cmBuilder, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Proficiency in understanding construction documents, shop drawings, and other design communication tools.

Passion for learning and adopting new technology.

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
