Required Skills:

• Proven experience in a Scrum Master role for a software development team that diligently applied Scrum principles, practices, and theory.

• Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.

• Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc).

• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.

• Certification in Scrum Master roles such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) is highly desirable.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Scrum Ceremonies: Oversee and manage daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews, ensuring effective execution and participation.

• Coach Team Members: Act as a coach to the team on agile methodologies, fostering a collaborative team environment that promotes self-organization.

• Remove Impediments: Identify and remove obstacles that prevent the team from achieving their goals, working across organizational boundaries when necessary.

• Ensure Team Alignment: Ensure the team is fully functional and productive, facilitating communication and collaboration within the team and with external groups.

• Protect the Team: Shield the team from outside distractions and interferences, ensuring they can focus on their tasks.

• Foster Continuous Improvement: Encourage and lead the team in identifying and implementing improvements to their processes, tools, and environments.

• Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between the team and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of progress, expectations, and feedback.

• Support Product Owner: Assist the Product Owner in managing the backlog, helping to ensure that it

• Track and Report: Monitor progress and performance using agile metrics and tools, reporting back to the team and upper management.

• Ensure Adherence to Agile Principles: Guide the team in understanding and practicing agility, including adherence to the Scrum framework.
