Currently, more than 1800 students are learning at GESS supported by more than 400 full time and part time academic and administrative staff members.

In August 2018 GESS moved to Dairy Farm Road to a modern new school campus located at the edge of Singapore’s largest nature reserve.

28 hours/week Commencing 1 August 2024 Main Responsibilities · Promotes the library and its materials.

· Assists library users in finding resources to meet their needs and access the online catalogue system OPAC.

· Supervises library users and helps maintain the physical appearance of the library.

· Fully responsible for running the operational part of the Library, circulation and information desks.

· Promotes understanding and love of books, storytelling, information literacy, digital literacy and library resources and services in students, staff and parents.

· Shelve library books and materials daily.

Resources and Support · Establish and maintain library procedures and processes.

· Work with the Head of Libraries, Teacher Librarians and Library Officers to promote library resources and services.

· Manage the library class visit timetable.

· Assists to maintain the physical appearance of the library.

· Other duties reasonable to establish the smooth operation of the library.

Community Engagement and Collaboration · Plan and develop library documentation and communication.

· Organize and support library programme events and author visits.

· Maintains a positive relationship with all school staff, teachers, students, parents and the wider GESS community.

· Keep school management informed of library activities and resources.

Requirements: · Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoys working with students of all cultural backgrounds and from all grade levels.

· Proficiency in both English and German languages as you will be engaging with students, parents and colleagues who speak these languages.

· Good understanding of library cataloguing standards.

· You should possess relevant working experience in either a library or a school setting.

· Good working knowledge of digital content and online platforms.

Willingness to learn new systems essential.

· Have strong computer skills and a passion for promoting learning & literacy.

· Have good organisational skills and the ability to work well in a team.

· Energetic, flexible and able to take on new challenges.
