Job Summary: The primary function of this position is to provide technical expertise and support of the Safety Management System for OSP Construction at NTI National Technologies. This position will primarily include field safety observation for various Outside plant and roadway construction projects in the Metro DC area. This position will also play an integral role in the facilitation of continuous improvement in the safety culture.

Essential Functions:

1. Help maintain and continuously improve all elements within the NTI Safety Management System.

2. Formulate and implement safety policies and procedures specific to road construction, heavy equipment operations, and other outside plant telecommunications activities

3. Provide technical support on safety and compliance related items

4. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations

5. Conduct thorough risk assessments for road construction projects and heavy equipment operations

6. Identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks

7. Assist with the development of toolbox talks for OSP operations

8. Lead the incident response process for injuries and significant near hit occurrences

9. Develop, review and modify JHA’s for work performed on OSP projects

10. Develop and implement emergency response plans for OSP construction sites

11. Conduct regular audits of construction sites and heavy equipment to identify safety issues

12. Work closely with project managers to integrate safety into project planning and execution

13. Provide coaching and mentoring for field leaders to encourage a behavior-based safety approach

14. Implement and track corrective action items identified through site audits

15. Ensure continuous safety training compliance with OSP personnel

16. Assist the Safety Manager and TSQ team with additional responsibilities as needed
