Vital Abilities for Thriving in Healthcare:

Mid-level experience in a related field

Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and other healthcare software

Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities

Your Role: Navigating Healthcare with Precision

Primary Responsibility:

Handle precertifications, making regular calls to commercial insurance companies for approvals/denials.

Obtain approvals mainly for ultrasound, heart angiogram, and other procedures by contacting the commercial insurance carrier.

Encode data on insurance carriers such as Blue Cross, Blue Shield, United Health Care for approvals and denials.

Gather additional information from patients to assist in getting approvals for denials.

Secondary Responsibility:

Schedule procedures in the hospital, including heart angiograms or peripheral angiograms.

Act as a liaison between doctors and hospitals.

Ensure procedures are pre-certified before scheduling.
