Chief Accounting Officer

Key Role:

Serve as the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) for Booz Allen Hamilton and be a strategic partner to the Chief Financial Officer. Assume responsibility for the vision, leadership, strategic direction, and performance of the firm’s accounting function. Oversee the design and implementation of financial reporting, revenue accounting, corporate accounting and tax functions, and the implementation of related systems, controls, procedures, and policies. Develop, deploy, and implement company methods, procedures, and practices to safeguard the assets of the company and to accurately reflect its financial results. Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, CFO, and other senior finance, business, and corporate infrastructure stakeholders, and the audit committee on finance matters for the global organization. Attract, develop, motivate, and manage a diverse, high performing team and develop a second succession team.

Basic Qualifications:

15+ years of experience in a financial or accounting role

Experience with accounting and tax policy and ensuring compliance with GAAP and DCAA regulations

Knowledge of accounting principles, SEC regulations, and the provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act

Experience attracting, developing, and motivating a high performing team

Ability to collaborate effectively with the audit committee and the board of directors

Ability to lead with vision and implement action plans to achieve goals

Ability to lead and be comfortable with transformation

Ability to obtain a security clearance

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business

Additional Qualifications:

Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting preferred

CPA certification preferred

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $290,000 to $495,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
