Maintaining attorney calendars, including all appointments, court deadlines, meetings, and all necessary dates regarding pleadings
Compile, proofread and edit drafts of contracts, leases, licenses, policies and other legal documents
Track deadlines to ensure legal documents are filed in a timely manner
Create and maintain case files, including producing and editing transcript
Organize all legal documents in a confidential way
Administratively support and attend trials
Prepare case briefs and summarize depositions, interrogatories and testimony
Collecting and filing evidence and information appropriately
Conduct investigations and statistical/documentary research
Filing legal documents such as motions, appeals with the opposing counsel or court
Interpret laws, rulings and regulations in legal documents.
Handle communication with clients, witnesses etc.
Job Qualification
Bachelor’s degree, or certification as legal assistant
Proven working experience as Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary; visa-related work an advantage
With knowledge on how to register a company, company license or permit and DTI, SEC, and other relevant permits application
Experience working in a fast-paced legal environment
Maintain strict confidentiality of organizational and client information
Familiarity with law, legal procedures, and protocols, and court system
Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
Be willing to attend court proceedings, take notes, and report back to a lawyer.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to understand and interpret legal documents.
Knowledge of online court filing systems
Knowledge of Philippine visa processing, an advantage
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
